GTA 6 on Xbox Series S
Yes, GTA 6 is officially coming to Xbox Series S on November 19, 2026. It is the cheapest console that can run it. The main things to know are resolution and, above all, storage.
Will GTA 6 look worse on Series S?
Almost certainly a bit. The Series S has a weaker GPU and less memory than the Series X, and games usually target a lower resolution on it. Rockstar has not shared Series S specifics yet, but the game was built with all Series X|S consoles in mind, so it will be a complete version of GTA 6, not a cut down one.
The real issue: 364 GB of space
The 512 GB Series S has about 364 GB usable. A massive open world game can take a big part of that, especially with a day one patch on top. If you have the 1 TB Series S you have roughly twice the room. Our storage guide covers expansion cards and what can run from USB.
Should you upgrade to a Series X?
If you care about the sharpest image on a big 4K TV, the Series X is the better machine. If you play on a 1080p or 1440p screen, the gap matters much less. Compare all options in best console for GTA 6.
Tips for Series S owners
Clear space before preload day, keep the console in sleep mode for updates, and use our Xbox preload steps to have the game ready at launch.
