Best TV settings for GTA 6
Leonida is all about light: sunsets, neon and bright beaches. A few minutes of setup makes a big difference. These settings work for any modern 4K TV and both consoles.
1. Turn on Game Mode
Game Mode cuts input lag by switching off the TV's heavy picture processing. Most TVs switch automatically (ALLM) when a console is detected; check that it is on in the picture settings.
2. Calibrate HDR on your console
On PS5 go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Adjust HDR and follow the three screens. On Xbox, run the HDR Game Calibration app from Settings > General > TV & display options. This stops bright skies from blowing out and dark nights from crushing to black.
3. Use the right HDMI port and cable
For 120 Hz and VRR you need an HDMI 2.1 port, often labelled 4K 120 or eARC, and the cable that came with your console.
4. Enable VRR and 120 Hz
Variable refresh rate (VRR) smooths out frame rate dips. Turn it on in the console's video settings and on the TV. Rockstar has not announced GTA 6's frame rate modes yet; if it offers a performance mode, 120 Hz output helps it feel smoother.
5. Picture settings
Turn off motion smoothing, noise reduction and dynamic contrast. Use the Game or Filmmaker style preset and leave sharpness low. Not sure which console to use? Read best console for GTA 6.
