When does GTA 6 Online come out?
Rockstar has not announced a release date for GTA 6 Online. Reports range from December 2026 to 2027. Story mode launches first, on November 19, 2026.
What history tells us
GTA 5 launched on September 17, 2013, and GTA Online followed two weeks later, on October 1, 2013. Its launch was rough, with server problems for days. Rockstar may again release the story first and open Online once the game is stable.
What the reports say
Some reports point to December 2026; Bloomberg has reported that Online could arrive in 2027. Neither is confirmed by Rockstar, so treat both as possibilities, not dates.
What you will need
A copy of GTA 6 and an online subscription: PlayStation Plus on PS5 or a Game Pass tier with multiplayer on Xbox. GTA 6 Online is expected to come included with the game, as GTA Online did with GTA 5.
